Cranberry Island Long Boats

On the shoreline of Cranberry Island off the coast of Maine sat an old, weathered building where these long boats were made.  The large sliding door was partially open on the August afternoon we visited the island and inside we were able to see a boat being built. These are rugged workboats frequently used to shuttle captain and crew to the lobster boats moored in the protected harbor.
